Come: take my hand, walk with me Do you think you could be satisfied? Are you tired of gravity? Cos I'm so tired of gravity, and all its hands wanna pull you back Do you think we need a plan of attack? Take my hand: we can fly Do you think you can be satisfied? Do you think you can be satisfied? Come, take my hand: we can fly Do you think you can be satisfied with the wings on your back? Do you think you’d dream of coming back? Do you think you’d dream of coming back? Cos I'm never coming back. Come! Take my hand, walk with me, I am tired of gravity and all its lies, filthy hands, filthy knives just wanna bring me down, and nothing’s gonna bring me down And nothing’s gonna bring me down Come, take my hand Walk with me: do you think you could be satisfied? Do you think you could be satisfied? Do you think you could be satisfied? Are you tired of gravity? Cos I'm so tired of gravity.

I've been distracted I've been abused Days have been protracted and my body’s been confused Falling toward the weekend: falling just like rain The world’s gonna pull em down out of the sky to smash on the streets again Let’s get fucked up Sit thee down beside me Grab thyself a cup 6 o’clock the bottle-shop closes We’ll put on the Stone Roses and we’ll get fucked up Let’s get fucked up

The error of your ways will haunt you when you’re riding home The error of your ways will find you lying there alone, waiting for the sun to come illuminate the day: shed a little light upon the error of your ways What are you waiting for? You’ve been burned before The error of your ways will find you lying on your back The error of your ways will see you wishing you were back waiting for the sun to come illuminate the day: shed a little light upon the error of your ways

I'm gonna take all these songs, gonna build a new language Who’s with me? Who’s with me? I'm gonna take all these songs, build some new kind of world Who’s with me? Who’s with me? I'm gonna take all these songs, gonna build a new logic: who’s with me? Gonna take all these songs, gonna build a new history Burn the old one I'm gonna take all these songs, gonna build a new language But sometimes, people ask what these songs even mean As though the point of a song is what it means But the point of a song, it’s what it does Yeah the point of a song, it’s not what it means, it’s what it does: a song is a machine: a machine for doing something A song is a machine: a machine for feeling something A song is a machine: a machine for making something Or a machine for breaking something Or a machine for taking something Or taking you somewhere I wanna be a machine Cos I only wanna live, I only wanna live in the bright world Yeah I only wanna live, I only wanna live in the bright world I wanna take all this history, burn it to make electricity I wanna be a machine I wanna, I wanna, I wanna I wanna be a machine

Little girl, there’s a doorway with a staircase in your mind Little girl, there’s a doorway with a staircase just behind You are dreaming I can help you You are dreaming now Little girl, are you haunted by the staircase in your head? Little girl, does it lead down to the things your parents said? You are dreaming I can help you Uou are dreaming now

about

After the pop brevity of our first EP ‘Space Elevator’, we wanted to experiment with a few longer songs. We still love, and write, short songs, but wanted to make something you could lose yourself in. And you can’t lose yourself in a song that’s only 30 seconds long.

The five songs on the EP were all recorded one night after work by Cornel ‘Qua’ Wilczek at Electric Dreams in South Melbourne, between 8pm and 3am. Cornel mixed and mastered the EP, too. Cornel is a machine, a prince among men. He’d been working in the studio all day and then recorded us for half the night; the next morning he had to be back in the studio at 6am to do something like write the theme music for Australia’s (ultimately unsuccessful) bid to host the soccer World Cup.

The EP broadens our influences to include Patti Smith, LCD Soundsystem, the first Hold Steady record, Ride-era shoegaze, a nameless psychedelia compilation Mike's girlfriend had in her car, and - though you probably wouldn’t pick it - Rogue Traders
